Who we are

werespond.ai is a service operated by RM Global Network, a US-registered nonprofit, to help faith communities respond to their social-media messages with care. This policy explains what information we handle and why. By using werespond, you agree to the practices described here.

Information we collect

We collect the account details you provide when you sign up — your name, email, ministry name, and preferred language. To connect Instagram, you provide Meta credentials (a page access token and account id), which we store encrypted. We also process the content of the direct messages your ministry receives and the replies werespond generates, along with basic usage data such as timestamps and message counts.

How we use your information

We use your information to operate the service: to authenticate you, to generate and send replies on your behalf, and to show you your conversations and account status. We use aggregated usage data to monitor reliability and improve the product. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share message content with OpenAI solely to generate replies — their API processes the text and returns a response. We exchange data with Meta (Instagram) to receive and send the direct messages you have connected. We do not share your data with any other third parties except where required by law.

Data retention

We retain your account, ministry, and conversation data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account or ask us to delete your data, we remove it within a reasonable period, except where we must keep limited records to meet legal obligations. Encrypted Meta credentials are deleted when you disconnect a channel.

How we protect your information

Sensitive credentials such as your Meta access token are encrypted at rest. Incoming webhook requests from Meta are verified before we act on them, and access to your data is scoped to your ministry only. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Your rights

You can access and update your account information from your dashboard. You may request a copy of your data, or its deletion, by contacting us. We will respond to reasonable requests within a reasonable timeframe.

Children's privacy

werespond is intended for use by ministries and their adult administrators. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

International data transfers

werespond is operated from the United States, and our service providers — including Meta and OpenAI — may process data in the United States and other countries. By using werespond, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify ministry administrators. Continued use of werespond after a change means you accept the updated policy.
